Thank you for nine and a half beautiful, flower filled years!
I have had the absolute honour to serve and meet so many wonderful, beautiful people these past nine and a half years since opening Hawthorn. There isn't a moment during this time that I have not felt incredibly blessed for being chosen by so many lovely souls to create for them on one of the most important days of their lives.
Over the past few months, through much deliberation between my heart and my head, I have made the decision to close Hawthorn. Truthfully this was not what I saw for the future of Hawthorn, as it had been my dream for the past handful of years to make the move back into a retail space. Sadly though, the current economic situation has made it too much of a gamble, one that even my risk-loving heart won't attempt as I move into a different phase of my life. I'd like to assure you that I am at complete peace with my decision, and in some ways I am. However, the handful of small tears around my heart suggests it isn't always as easy to move on, even though I know it is the right thing to do. That being said, I have felt as though I have been drifting in that "in-between phase" for a little bit too long. Having completely outgrown my home studio space while also not able to secure anything suitable commercially. And I assure you, that has been equally as hard on the heart.
Flowers have gotten me through so much, they have never just been a career to me. I am so grateful for all of you that saw the beauty and value in what I have done. The support that I received over the years brought me through some incredibly difficult times and I truly wouldn't be who I am without it.
So thank you again, from the bottom of this flower lover's heart, for nine and a half years of love, support, and friendships, I will never truly be the same.
