FAQ | DAHLIA TUBERS

Our Dahlia Tubers

All tubers sold on our site have been grown by us, with the exception of varieties labeled as imports.  Before heading out to you, we do a thorough inspection of all tubers where we confirm the health of the tuber as well as its viability, all individual tubers have at minimum one visible eye, with tuber clumps a minimum of two separate tubers.

Tuber size is not indicative of tuber health.  Different varieties produce different sizes and shapes.  If you are new to dahlia growing (welcome!) please do not be alarmed to see a variety of sizes and shapes within your order.  If you smell a faint hint of cinnamon within your dahlias tubers, do not be alarmed!  We dust cinnamon on all tuber cuts for its fungicide and root boosting properties.

Because our tubers have started to awaken, eyes beginning to swell, perhaps even the odd root forming, we recommend potting your tubers upon receiving them versus putting them back into cold storage.  For tips on starting your tubers, please feel free to visit our blog here, or send us your questions via email.
